Oceanside Sailors make conference champs

The Oceanside Sailors baseball team is Conference AA-1 Champion after they beat the Syosset Braves by eight to seven on May 11. It’ s their first title since 2011. They wrap up the season 16-2-1,after eliminating the Braves from the playoffs. In the conference their record is 13-1-1.

Next they try for a county championship. If they win it would be their first time since 2004.

Coach Michael Postilio said it was nice to win the regular season. “This is my fourth year, and we have had to play an elimination on Saturday, but this year we did not have to do that. We play Farmingdale next; we have played them three times during the season, and beat them, twice with one run games. They are a good team; we are not taking them lightly by no means. But we are focused on our team and doing what we need to do.”

The next round is a best two out of three game elimination.
