Arrests

  • Andrea Rojas, 19, of Glen Cove, was arrested at Warehouse 5, 80 Waterfront Boulevard in Island Park, on Aug. 11 and charged with resisting arrest, obstructing government administration, disorderly conduct and harassment.
  • Mayco Granados, 19, and Freddi Granados, 22, both of Glen Cove, were arrested at Warehouse 5, 80 Waterfront Boulevard in Island Park, on Aug. 11 and charged with assault and resisting arrest.
  • Ronda Callwood, 22, of Oceanside, was arrested and charged with shoplifting from Kohl's, 3600 Long Beach Road in Oceanside, on Aug. 6.
  • Hayley Greenberg, 45, of Levittown, was arrested on Lawson Boulevard in Oceanside on Aug. 6 and charged with unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
  • April Johnson, 37, of Oceanside, was arrested on Dalto Court in Oceanside and charged with assault on Aug. 16. According to police, Johnson started a verbal argument with her landlord who came to the apartment with a plumber to do repair work. Police say that Johnson struck her landlord in the head and face and pushed her against a wall, causing serious injuries.


Criminal Mischief

  • The driver's-side mirror was broken on a car parked at Paddy McGees, 6 Waterview Road in Island Park, on Aug. 10.
  • Someone slashed the driver's-side rear tire on a car parked on Mahlon Brower Drive in Oceanside on Aug. 11.
  • The antenna was broken off and the trim around the windows was damaged on a 1993 Honda parked at Oceanside High School, 3160 Skillman Ave. in Oceanside, on Aug. 13.
  • The rear window of a 2002 Pontiac parked on Sagamore Road in Island Park was smashed on Aug. 14.
  • Three tires were slashed on a car parked on Long Beach Road in Oceanside on Aug. 6.
  • A window on Oceanside High School, 3160 Skillman Ave. in Oceanside, was broken by a golf ball on Aug. 9.


DWI

  • Moises DeVargas, 29, of Merrick, was arrested on West Windsor Parkway in Oceanside on Aug. 14 and charged with unlicensed operation of a vehicle an driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content of .08 percent.
  • Bianca Machado, 21, of Augusta, GA, was arrested on Austin Boulevard in Island Park on Aug. 8 and charged with driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content of .10 percent.
