American freeskier Devin Logan, who won silver medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, has made a name for herself as one of the only competitive female freeskiers to participate in both slopestyle and halfpipe.

On October 16, Logan returned to the place where it all began when she visited School #2 in Oceanside. The school hosted a special assembly in honor of Devin’s visit. Logan attended the Oceanside Schools through middle school before the family moved to Vermont so that she and her brothers, who also ski, could more easily train and compete. As an aunt to her young niece and nephew, Logan feels compelled to give back to the next generation. She talked with the students at School #2 about the importance of pursuing one’s dreams and being ready for the hard work and perseverance that lead to success.

Logan made history at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia as the first U.S. female to take the silver medal in women’s slopestyle skiing. In addition to her historic Olympic Silver medal, she also has three X Games medals, a national Champion title, two Winter Dew Tour Champion titles, Junior World Champion title and three AFP Overall titles.
