The Oceanside Library and Oceanside Sanitation Department joined together in an Earth Day celebration on Apr. 18. Inside the Library, children made birdhouses from recycled material, and representatives of Oceanside Sanitation handed out recycling-themed coloring books and crayons, as well as refrigerator magnets and information about Oceanside Sanitation services.
Supervisor of Community Services Tony Iovino said outside the Library, Oceanside Sanitation accepted e-cycle materials (old TVs, computers, etc.) and shred documents right on site. Over 300 patrons participated in the programs.
