School #4 remembers Shamus with shamrocks
Students at School #4 honored the memory of Shamus Ward, who lost his battle with leukemia in March 2009, with Shamrocks for Shamus, an annual fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Under the direction of art teacher Jean Marie Toy, 6th graders made more than 100 shamrock pins that they sold for $1 each. They plan to make more pins to meet the demand from fellow students who wanted to buy one.
