Blood Manor brings haunts to Nassau Coliseum in its second year

The Manhattan-based Halloween haunt Blood Manor drew hundreds of guests to Nassau Coliseum last year when it debuted it Long Island attraction “Crypts of the Coliseum.” This year brings just as much gore and frights in the space that doubles the size of the original haunt in lower Manhattan’s Hudson Square neighborhood.

The Herald experienced the haunt first-hand during an Oct. 2 preview where dozens of the ghouls from the attraction’s “League of the Undead” introduced themselves. One cloaked skeleton saw a Herald photographer’s camera and exclaimed how excited it would be to kill someone and see it on the news. In the end, we made it out to tell the tale.

Walking through the 10,000 square foot maze, guests are taunted and shocked by zombie ghosts, undead clowns and reanimated corpses that hide throughout the multiple rooms — each with a different theme. It all leads up to a change of scenery with a three-dimensional, undead funhouse.

Because of the extra space offered at the Coliseum, Blood Manor adds to the frights and fun at its Long Island location with the Fear Garden and carnival, on the plaza. It offers food, drinks, entertainment, carnival games and a Ferris Wheel and Riptide ride. But beware, as some of the crypt’s ghouls could get restless and stalk the carnival for an extra scare.

“Crypts of the Coliseum” remains open through Nov. 3 and tickets are available at www.ticketmaster.com, www.nycblive.com, or ‪(800) 745-3000.
