Hundreds of people made their way to Milburn Creek last Sunday for the 21st annual Cardboard Boat Race.
Sponsored by the Baldwin Fire Department and Sanitary District No. 2, the annual event features local residents dressed up in colorful garb riding in their handmade cardboard boats.
The only other materials allowed to be used other than cardboard are duct tape, rope and string. In the past, organizers have said the purpose of the race is to have a good time, and encourage people to take advantage of the South Shore’s waterways.
