Two big awards for Dodds & Eder in Oyster Bay

An interdisciplinary jury comprised of landscape design and allied professionals from the Long Island and New York State Landscape and Nursery Association convened this year to select winners of the 2018 LINLA and NYSNLA Landscape Design Awards. Of the Awards presented, Dodds & Eder received both Silver and Gold on the local level and two Environmental Beautification Awards at the state level. The awards will be presented at the Annual Membership Dinner, to be held on Dec. 3 in Troy, New York where the projects will be showcased at the Design Awards Ceremony.

The projects chosen represent excellence in professional landscape design and installation. Timothy Barry, Director of Landscape Design and Development at Dodds & Eder noted, “The work represented this year will bring joy to those visiting these landscapes and bring further awareness to our profession. As a designer and representative of our firm, I am thankful to receive this recognition of our work”.

Dodds & Eder has been a part of the Oyster Bay area for many years and was acquired by the Darbee family and its LLC, The Chase Sheridan Group on October 1. The Darbees have roots that go back generations on Long Island and have been familiar with and respected the reputation of Dodds & Eder for decades. The company has retained all employees and management and added to its management ranks Jonathan and Curtis Darbee.

“Existing management and employees will continue in their roles and responsibilities as they have been and will continue to be key pillars to Dodds & Eder’s success,” said Jonathan Darbee, the new director of administration.

“Plans to move the existing headquarters to an exciting new location in Oyster Bay in the first quarter of 2019 are underway,” added Curtis Darbee, operations manager.  “Dodds & Eder will continue to remain open for business without interruption to serve our client’s needs during this move. The company intends to continue to offer the full range of services and products it currently provides.”
