Why does no media outlet give us the full and correct story?

LIRR workers get automatic step increases. The raises they are negotiating for in this new contract are ABOVE the automatic steps.

I can see why the unions want to keep that quiet. I don't understand why the MTA wants to keep it quiet - unless the whole thing is rigged.

The unions want 17% over six years. That's about 2.8% a year - and most people would think that's reasonable - even though most people in private industry haven't even been guaranteed that much in the Obama "recovery."

How much are the automatic step increases? 2%? 3%? If they are 3%, then the 2.8% increase per year is really 5.8% - well above inflation. In fact, the step increases alone may already beat inflation.

Under the Triborough Amendment - which Steve Levy and Mike Fitzpatrick are fighting to repeal - even when the contract expires, the step increases continue.

I think we have a right to know the real deal. Please start reporting it!
