Sandel Center members John and Claire Kirkwood recently spoke at a Village Board meeting to share their New Years resolutions about fitness. This is what they shared:
Hi everyone. We are here to say a few words about the Sandel Center.
Surely, among your New Year’s resolutions is the desire to be fit and have more energy.
Everyone loves a bargain. If you are over 60, one of the best and most reasonable gifts you can give yourself exercise at the Sandel Center.
We run the gamut from aerobics to Zumba. There is something for everyone at every level and physical condition.
It’s worth it just to see the positions we can get ourselves into. Remember, laughing at yourself is healthy.
All is done in an encouraging and positive atmosphere with qualified instructors who get to know and care about us and we care about them as well.
Lose weight and gain friends. Is this a winning combination or what? John does not object to having twice as many women in the class as men either!
Claire has become more flexible, kept osteoporosis from progressing and feels great! John has severe arthritis and exercise has helped him as well.
About the bargain part, Sandel is the best buy you can get for exercise, camaraderie and much more!
Come in a visit a few classes. It might take a little time until you find your niche and you’ll soon want a membership too.
There are many opportunities for fitness at the Sandel Center. For more information about membership or the programs and services offered by the RVC Department of Senior Services, please call 678-9245.
