Parlay Gastropub opened its doors on the evening of Thursday, Feb. 19 to welcome models from OohLaLa Boutique show off their Spring Preview Fashion Show.

Families and local residents all gathered to watch seven models work a runway lined with rose pedals and pink paper lanterns while wearing OohLaLa Boutique’s latest spring line.

Dee Hudson, the manager at the Babylon OohLaLa store, explained the night’s goal was to, “get our name out there. We’re new and so is Parlay, so we combined the event.”

At the event, they had raffles and goodie bags for people to win.

The models had their hair and makeup done a few doors down Merrick Road at Osio Salon.

“We’re promoting the block,” said Prisha Szachacz, a makeup artist at Osio Salon, and one of the artists for the models that night.

Local businesses working with other local businesses was the trend for the evening; each trying to help promote one another.

“It’s a neighborly thing, that we’re doing,” said Amy Lemelledo, another makeup artist and hair stylist for the models that evening.

It may not have been a show at fashion week in NYC, but it did draw a large crowd and a fun-filled, laid back evening.
