The Rockville Centre Fire Department was one of 30 Nassau and Suffolk County fire departments to participate in a firefighting tournament at Hempstead’s Weir Street Course on Aug. 3. A newly formed team, the RVCFD Woodlanders participated in drills testing skills ranging from general efficiency to hose use and bucket transportation. The team looks forward to competing in a State tournament on Aug. 17 at the same course, where more than 60 teams from throughout New York will compete for a state title.
