On Nov. 25 and 26, Mid-Island Collision owner Bob Jesberger purchased nearly $150,000 worth of food and donated it all to charities and food pantries across Long Island.
It’s the third time that Jesberger has donated food in his “Fill the Bag” event. Jesberger supplied the food, and volunteers from all over came out to help package the goods and load them into trucks.
Jesberger purchased six tractor-trailers worth of non-perishable food. Then dozens of volunteers helped to pack it up.
“I’m supposed to do it,” he had told the Herald. “I’m Christian, and I tithe. We do it because there’s a need for it. It seems like every year it gets bigger and bigger.”
