Rockville Centre schools opened their doors last week, starting off the year after a long summer break.

School started early in the morning on Sept. 3 in all of the Rockville Center Public Schools.

The summer ended with a bit of controversy, with parents of kindergartners at Hewitt petitioning the Board of Education for an extra kindergarten class, which they were denied. There are 77 classes in the district’s elementary schools this year.
