Lister Field to get an upgrade

Lister Field — one of many fields that makes up the Mill River Complex in Rockville Centre — is going to be getting a makeover, at no cost to taxpayers.

At its meeting on Dec. 8, the village’s Board of Trustees accepted a bid from Roadwork Ahead, Inc. of $675,000 to renovate walkway at the field.

The walkways at Lister Park are in very bad condition, with most of the areas cracked and pitted. The work would repair all of that.

The money comes from both Nassau County and New York State grants. The village received approximately $300,000 from the Nassau County Environmental Bond Act of 2009, which it was awarded in 2011. The village also received about $500,000 from the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation in 2013.
