McLoughlin to be honored at Gentleman’s gala

Stephen McLoughlin of Rockville Centre will be honored at the 51st Annual Gentlemen’s St. Patrick’s Dinner on March 9 at the Hempstead Golf and Country Club.

The chairmen of this year’s event are Fran Darcy of Rockville Centre, and Jeffrey Mulhall of Garden City. Former National Football League and New York Jets quarterback Jay Fielder will be the guest speaker.

McLoughlin is a member of the Board of Directors of Catholic Health Services of Long Island, a corporate entity that controls six hospitals, three nursing homes, Catholic Home Care, Good Shepherd Hospice and the Maryhaven Center. His work there includes the quality management and community benefits committees and performance improvement.

He has also been a member of the Friends of Mercy Medical Center since 1993, served as president in 2007 and remains an active member on the executive board of the Friends. He was a founding member and fourth President of the St. Agnes Fathers Club.

McLoughlin has contributed many years of service in Rockville Centre, beginning with the annual St. Agnes Parish celebration. He has also coached Little League and CYO girls’ basketball, chaired the Sacred Heart Academy Golf Outing in 1999 and 2000 and was honored by Sacred Heart for his service to the school in 2001. He has been the honoree at the Mercy Golf Outing and received the Bill Cronin Award at the Fathers’ Club Gold Outing in 2014.

He and his wife Pam have been married for 41 years and have three children; Todd, Brian and Anne. They also have a granddaughter named Heather.

In 2016, the Steve and Pam received the St. Thomas Aquinas Award for their strong support for Catholic education by the St. Agnes Cathedral School.
