Dancers from Miss Colleen’s Elite Dancentre in Rockville Centre were honored by Senator Todd Kaminsky after an outstanding showing at the Edge National Talent Competition, held from July 4 to 9, in Hershey, Pa.

“These girls are outstanding leaders, on and off the stage,” said Kaminsky. “Dedication, perseverance, and spirit are what it takes to be successful, and their hard work has truly paid off.”

Miss Colleen’s Elite Dancentre submitted 68 performances at the competition, and while they were edged out by one tenth of a point for the “Edge Cup,” they obtained the overall highest score in the competition. Senior Company member, Zoe Roman, won the highest solo score and went on to be named “Miss Teen Edge.”

“Elite Dancentre truly believes in creating a positive atmosphere for learning, said Colleen Gunn, owner of Miss Colleen’s Elite Dancentre. “We don’t require auditions like other dance schools, and accept everyone to be a part of our dance family. The girls were exceptional at the Edge National Talent Competition, and I am thrilled that Senator Kaminsky has honored them for their hard work.”
