Dion, Masin re-elected to school board Bucaria, Maher returned to library Board

The school and library spending plans passed in Tuesday’s budget votes with a comfortable margin.

The school district budget passed by 70 percent, 1,648 to 694. Board Trustees Liz Dion and Mark Masin, who were running unopposed, received 1,747 and 1,508 votes, respectively.

The library budget was approved by almost 78 percent, 1,683 to 484. Incumbent Library Board Trustees Eileen Burke Bucaria and Andrea Cascardi Maher were both returned to their seats, with Bucaria earning 1,426 votes and Maher 1,174. Challenger Jason Paulsen earned 776.

“Thank you,” district Superintendent Dr. William Johnson said after the votes were tallied. “The support only means we’ll work harder.”
