Arrests

A resident of Chestnut Street, Baldwin was arrested on Jan. 25 and charged with driving while intoxicated after an accident in the vicinity of 716 Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre.

A resident of Stoew Avenue, Baldwin was arrested on Jan. 26 and charged with driving while intoxicated after an accident in the vicinity of N. Long Beach Road, Rockville Centre.

Larcenies

A resident of Edmunton Drive, N. Babylon reported on Jan. 21 that someone stole a Toshiba Thrive tablet, valued at $250, from his unlocked 2005 Toyota while it was parked at Best Western, located at 173 Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre.

A resident of N. Village Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on Jan. 22 that someone stole a UPS delivery, valued at $30, from the front of the residence.

A resident of Freeman Avenue, Oceanside reported on Jan. 23 that someone stole his iPhone, valued at $499, from Capital One, located at 77 Lincoln Ave., Rockville Centre.

A resident of Brower Avenue, Rockville Centre reported that someone removed $100 in currency from her wallet that went missing from the restroom at Hewitt School in Rockville Centre.

A resident of Charles Street, Bellmore reported on Jan. 25 that a coworker from George Martin Restaurant, located at 65 N. Park Ave., Rockville Centre stole $50 from her wallet that was in the manager’s office.

A resident of Yorktown Street, Oceanside reported on Jan. 25 that someone removed her pocketbook, containing a Motorola cell phone, valued at $50, credit cards, and $14 in currency from the floor, in the vicinity of a self check-out station at King Kullen at 127 Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre.

A resident of Ocean Avenue, Oceanside reported on Jan. 25 that someone from California used a fraudulent credit card to pay for the transport of two vehicles from Marlboro, New York to North Highlands, California by AT 123 Auto Transport, located at 204 Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre.

Unauthorized Use

An employee of U-Haul, located at 230 Maple Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on Jan. 23 that a Long Beach resident had possessed a 2011 U-Haul trailer and storage unit without permission.

Unusual Incident

A resident of Jefferson Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on Jan. 22 that someone made unauthorized purchases in Delaware, totaling $1,569, against her American Express account.

A 14-year-old resident of Yale Place, Rockville Centre reported that someone sent text messages causing annoyance and alarm.

An employee at 176 N. Village Ave., Rockville Centre reported on Jan. 23 that someone from College Point refused to pay $500 for cosmetic treatment.

An employee of Child Protective Services requested on Jan. 23 that police conduct a well-being check at a Lincoln Court, Rockville Centre residence. No further police action was required.

Extortion

A resident of Dorchester Road, Rockville Centre reported on Jan. 26 that someone called claiming to have kidnapped her son and demanding that she wire a total of $3,100 to Puerto Rico via Western Union. After complying with the demands, the complainant the determined that none of her children had been kidnapped; they were safe and unharmed.

Menacing

A resident of N. Forest Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on Jan. 27 that sometime in November, 2012 a male friend from Freeport threatened her with a screw gun while repairing a door lock, causing her to be fearful and alarmed.

Property Damage

A resident of Merrifield Road, Oceanside reported on Jan. 23 that someone damaged his 2008 Pontiac while it was parked at 242 Merrick Road, Rockville Centre.

Property Lost

A resident of 151st Ave., Howard Beach reported on Jan. 21 that two New York State license plates were lost in the vicinity of Lexus Pre-owned cars, located at 666 Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre.
