Teens charged with criminal mischief in South Hempstead

According to Nassau County police, officers from the Bureau of Special Investigations stopped a group of teenagers in South Hempstead on Nov. 16.

Adon Modesto, 19, of Gates Avenue, Brentwood; Juan Estrella, 18, of East Greenwich Avenue, Roosevelt; Fritz Joseph, 17, of Northgate Drive, Uniondale; Chucky Orellana, 17, of Robinwood Avenue, Uniondale; and Josue Rubert, 18, of Northgate Court, Uniondale were in a 2009 Honda that was observed earlier on Cedar Street in Uniondale from which paintball shots were fired at a 28-year-old male victim and at a Cedar Street residence causing a broken front window.

After an investigation, Modesto, Estrella and Joseph were charged in connection with a related incident that occurred on Babylon Turnpike in Roosevelt on Nov. 11th in which a 47-year-old male victim sustained a serious injury to his left eye.

Modesto, Estrella, Joseph, Orellana and Rubert are being charged with reckless endangerment. Additionally, Modesto, Estrella and Joseph are being charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon and Estrella is being charged with criminal mischief. They were arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Nov. 18.

Arrests

A resident of Main Street, Freeport was arrested on Nov. 11 while on Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and VTL violations.

The same day, a resident of Blue Spruce Lane, Wantagh was arrested and charged with criminal mischief while at the intersection of Sunrise Highway and N. Park Avenue, Rockville Centre.

A resident of Jerusalem Avenue, Massapequa Park was arrested the same day and charged with driving while intoxicated and VTL violations on Sunrise Highway.

Also on Nov. 11, a resident of Campsite Lane, East Setauket was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and speeding on Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre.

A resident of Bishop Road, Brentwood was arrested on Nov. 11 on N. Long Beach Road and chared with aggravated unlicensed operation and VTL violations following an investigation of a motor vehicle accident.

The same day, a resident of N. Long Beach Road, Rockville Centre was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated while at the intersection of Woodland Avenue and Lincoln Avenue, Rockville Centre.

Larcenies

A resident of Nottingham Road, Rockville Centre reported on Nov. 9 that someone removed storm-damaged property from the vicinity of her residence without permission.

The next day, a resident of Rockville Avenue, Rockville Centre reported that someone stole a wallet containing $200 and miscellaneous paperwork from a closet at St. Agnes Cathedral.

ID Theft

A resident of S. Park Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on Nov. 9 that someone made unauthorized transactions against her Wells Fargo checking account, totaling $538.28.

Property Damage

A resident of Concord Street, Rockville Centre reported on Nov. 9 that someone damaged the rear bumper of his 1996 Toyota while it was parked in front of his residence.
