Randi needs some sense

To the Editor:

I read with some interest and amusement and shock Randi Kreiss’s column “Trump recruits (who else?) fellow Know-Nothing Sarah Palin” (Sept. 17-23). Especially when she wrote, “Trump is the unedited version of our dark side.”

Is Ms. Kreiss, herself, engaging in “hate speech”? Good Grief, Randi, have you no shame for your own vitriolic arrogance?

Why not deal a little more intelligently with the substantive issues, instead of descending into the far-too-usual Leftish abyss of character assassination?

Maybe Randi ought to think in terms of leading by example. Indeed, I hope the end of summer brings her, too, to more “sense and sensibility.”

Randi’s got Trump’s (and Palin’s) number

To the Editor:

Kudos to Randi Kreiss for her column “Trump recruits (who else?) fellow Know-Nothing Sarah Palin” (Sept. 17-23). Randi touched all the bases neatly and cogently.

Someone in my group recently commented that Donald Trump’s rantings are raising the TV viewership for the Republican Party, and that may be why they don’t discourage him. Who knows? I believe, as Randi does, that he will flame out eventually. Let’s hope it’s soon.
