Rockville Centre daydreamin’

On Friday, Feb. 5, the Rockville Centre Community Fund held its third annual Margaritaville fundraiser at the St. Agnes Parish Center.

The night is the Community Fund’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Formerly the Enchanted Winterland, Mayor Francis X. Murray changed the fundraiser to the Margaritaville theme two years ago and has kept it every year since because of its immense popularity.

The Rockville Centre Community Fund was created in 1987 by former-mayor Gene Murray. As its mission, it gives money and aid to Rockville Centre residents in their time of need.

There were about 500 people at the event. Though the exact amount of money raised hasn’t been calculated yet, Murray said it was going to be more than last year, which raised about $20,000 for the charity.

The evening also honored Anthony Geraci, Tom McNicholas, Jr. and Danny Quinn, co-owners of Kaseys Kitchen and Cocktails, for the work they’ve done and how they’ve given back to the community.
