Rockville Centre resident accused of bank robbery

A Rockville Centre resident has been arrested on allegations of robbing a bank on Nov. 13, according to Nassau County Police Department.

Marcus Pettway, 25, of N. Center Avenue, entered the Bank of America located at 60 Hempstead Ave., and gave a note demanding money to a teller, police said.

Pettway fled from the bank on foot southbound on Hempstead Avenue after obtaining an unknown amount of money. Officers responding to the call located Pettway at Hempstead Gardens Drive and Cedar Street where he was subsequently arrested.

There were six employees and four customers present during the incident and no injuries were reported. The money Pettway had allegedly taken was recovered.   

Pettway is charged with robbery and was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Nov. 14th.
