Johnson says he hopes the district can work with its architects, BBS Architects, to get the plans ready and approved by the state in time to begin construction in the spring of 2014. “I’d like to have the shell at both the north wing of the high school and the classrooms at Watson done by the end of next summer,” said Johnson.

According to Johnson, the north addition of the high school and the classrooms at Watson will hopefully be completed in time for children to start using them in the fall of 2015. The south addition to the high school should be done in 2016, he said.

“We’re going to very aggressively begin the process of getting both buildings drawn up,” said Johnson. “They’ve got to come back to us in the community here. We’ll have to work with the Board of Education and our staff to make sure everything is covered and everything is where we want it to be.”
