St. Agnes School holds bully-prevention workshop
The St. Agnes School Board, in conjunction with the Mothers’ Club, the Fathers’ Club and the Home School Association presented a Parental Support Workshop, “Dignity for All Students,” on Oct. 24, 2012 in the Monsignor Kelly Center. The presenter, Kara Santucci, a bully-prevention specialist from Child Abuse Prevention Services on Long Island, discussed the importance of fostering early dialogues with your children concerning kindness, acceptance and diversity. She outlined the differences between normal conflicts and true bullying. Santucci also discussed the forms of bullying as well as common myths concerned with dealing with bullying and provided tools to help parents and children respond, act and cope with bullying situations. The workshop was the second in a series emphasizing tolerance, personal responsibility, respect for others and dignity for all.
