On June 14, the Village of Rockville Centre honored its longtime Nursery School program coordinator Joan Schapiro by dedicating the nursery school area of the Recreation Center to her.
Many of Schapiro’s family and former students came out to see the area be officially named the Joan S. Schapiro Early Childhood Development Center.
Schapiro has been working for the Rec Center’s nursery school since 1968 and has helped form it into what it is today.
