Fuel the Soul Yoga studio brings exciting innovation to Long Island with its new FAR infrared Yoga. FAR infrared heating is the same technology currently being used in hospitals throughout the world for prenatal incubators. In addition, the FAR system is one of the leading heating systems for saunas and detoxification centers. Using no ultraviolet radiation whatsoever, it is now being used in select Yoga studios with incredible results.

“We have created what I believe is the perfect Yoga environment for both beginner and expert students,” says Greg Fine, owner and lead instructor at Fuel the Soul Yoga. “Students at the studio talk about long-standing aches disappearing, improved flexibility, and better skin tone. Some have labeled it the most comfortable hot workout ever, with an all around feeling of well-being that they have never experienced before.”

Not to be confused with traditional Hot Yoga, which can be too humid and oppressive for some, FAR infrared long-wave heating is the same heating that your body produces,” says Fine. “The sun produces heat in both the long and short-wave spectrum, but it is the long-waves you feel coming through your car window. Long-waves are incredibly efficient since they don’t heat the air, but rather the object. So, the floor, walls and the human body get heated, but the air remains at a comfortable temperature.

Long-wave heating of FAR infrared also has numerous health benefits. It boosts the metabolism, promotes healthier cells, and there is more breakdown of fatty acids. Blood flow is increased, which has a stimulating and detoxifying effect. Defense mechanisms are strengthened for improved immune function. Muscles are heated deeply, resulting in better flexibility. And, endorphin production is stimulated for a natural, feel-good exercise high.

Greg Fine and his wife, Lauren, opened Fuel the Soul six years ago. In addition to instructing Yoga and Gyrotonic, Greg is a passionate musician and artist. Lauren is a licensed massage therapist, adjunct professor of massage at New York College of Health Professions, and is a certified children’s Yoga instructor.

Fuel the Soul features a 200-hour Teacher Training program for those who want to become yoga instructors, which is given in the spring and fall. The studio also offers massage, meditation, sauna, and a myriad of other healing arts.
