About 400 people danced the night away at St. Agnes Parish Center last Saturday, helping raise nearly $30,000 for the Rockville Centre Community Fund.
“It was probably the most successful one we had monetarily,” said Mayor Francis X. Murray.
The annual event, dubbed ‘Margaritaville, served as a fundraiser for the fund, a not-for-profit charity founded in 1987 that helps those in need, including seniors, single parents and victims of disasters. At the fundraiser, residents listened to the musical stylings of Jimmy and the Parrots and bid on items in an auction, which included a trip to Paris. Residents also danced and enjoyed alcoholic beverages as Niall Gunn, owner of Monaghans, was being honored for his work.
“It was a fantastic night all around,” Murray said.
