Ella Forte, of N. Bellmore, dead at 85

Ella Frances Forte, 85, formerly of North Bellmore, died on April 22 surrounded by her family at her home in Mooresville, North Carolina.

Forte was born on Nov. 27, 1931 in Brooklyn to the late William and Frances Fallon. While living in North Bellmore, she was a Girl Scout leader, softball coach, committee member of the North Bellmore Republican Club, member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, business owner and active supporter of the Bellmore Knights of Columbus through her husband, sons and sons-in-law.

For the past 14 years, Forte lived in North Carolina where she was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church, the Red Hat Society and the Lions Club. She also enjoyed playing cards, eating out, shopping and the company of her friends. However, it was her family she enjoyed most.

In addition to her parents, Forte was predeceased by her husband, Edwin Joseph Forte Sr.; son, Kevin J. Forte; brothers Robert Fallon and William Fallon; grandson Justin J. Wilson and son-in-law Louis A. Scida.

She is survived by her children, Edwin J. Forte Jr. (and wife Linda), Patricia Scida, Steven Forte (and wife Doreen), Frances Wilson (and husband Lance), Denise Salowski, Diane Galgano (and husband Robert), Honora Ruggiero (and husband Carl), Brian Forte (and wife Dawn), Ralph Forte (and wife Maria), her 26 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in North Carolina in April. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on June 17 at St. Raphael Catholic Church in East Meadow, followed by a noon burial at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
