Hewlett grad meets Dwayne Wade

Tweeting and providing good intel worked for North Woodmere resident and Hewlett High School graduate Brad Parker, who sent a tweet last month to NBA star Dwyane Wade about a good place to play hoops.

It turned other that D-Wade took Parker’s advice and showed up at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan. Parker’s friend Adam Renna called Parker and told him to get there, pronto. Wearing a Steve Novak Knicks jersey, as Novak and Wade were college teammates at Marquette, he met and played a pickup game with the basketball star.

To top it off, the University of Buffalo grad with a degree in communications and journalism posted a video on Facebook with Wade. “[I] put it up on Instagram/Twitter and it went viral getting picked up by many different media outlets including Yahoo Sports and Barstool Sports! But maybe the best past was that News Channel 12 BK/Bronx came to the gym the following week to do a story on my experience that would air later that week on live TV! One of the greatest experiences of my life!”
