AMIT, a New York-based nonprofit that advocates for education in Israel and has a strong Sephardic Temple chapter in Cedarhurst, was ranked Israel’s No. 1 educational network by the Jewish state’s Education Ministry.

The ministry cited AMIT’s high school matriculation rate and the number of students learning math and English at the highest levels. AMIT serves 34,000 students annually in its 110 schools in 32 cities across Israel.

The ranking reflects AMIT’s “innovative method of education, which focuses on a holistic approach that encourages principals, teachers and students to realize their full potential personally and academically,” officials stated in a news release.

“We are so proud of our exceptional network [of] leadership, staff principals and teachers,” AMIT President Debbie Moed said the same release.
