Welcoming the world to the Franklin Early Childhood Center in Hewlett

The Franklin Early Childhood Center in the Hewlett-Woodmere School District welcomed several “countries” at its annual One World celebration on March 5 at the Hewlett school. Students at FECC are in pre-K to first grade.

Barbados, Brazil, Costa Rica, France, Georgia, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Nepal, Nigeria, Peru, Pakistan, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Republic of Guinea, Russia, Trinidad, Turkey, United States and Ukraine were among the nearly 30 nations represented at the 90-minute event that attracted roughly 700 people. There were traditional dances, artwork, music and foods that highlighted each country’s cultural heritage.
