Mercy hosts Harvest Festival

Mercy Medical Center — at 1000 N. Village Ave. — is throwing its Harvest Festival on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free event features lunch, ambulance and fire truck tours, giveaways, a pumpkin patch for decorating, face painting and a bounce house!

Brass at the library

The Fortnightly Women’s Club of Rockville Centre welcome Ed Albinski on brass, accompanied by another brass and a percussion section, at the Rockville Centre Public Library at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2.

Fund the fight in black and white

The Rockville Centre Breast Cancer Coalition is throwing its second annual Black and White Cocktail Fundraiser on Friday, Oct. 5 from 7 to 11 p.m. at EGP Gastropub — at 2823 Long Beach Rd. in Oceanside. For $75 in advance (pay at rvcbcc.org) or $85 at the door, guests can expect a fun night of music, top shelf open bar and passed hors d’oeuvres as well as basket raffles, 50/50 and more. All proceeds benefit the Coalition, so please fund the fight!

Exhibit opening

Visit Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County for a special  Curator’s Corner presentation opening the new exhibit, “Celia Goetz: The Aggressive War Chief of Nuremberg.” The event, on Sunday, Sept. 30, at 2 p.m. examines Judge Goetz and the legacy of the Nuremberg Trials. A tuneful evening with Helen Sung

The pianist-composer brings an all-star band to Tilles Center for a concert highlighting her new release “Sung With Words,” her first recording to feature original vocal compositions that feature the poems of California Poet Laureate Dana Gioia as lyrics. Sung opens the evening, Saturday, Sept. 29, at 8 p.m., with her newest project “On Tap with Michela Marino Lerman.” Sung and Lerman give a lively interpretation of the American Songbook.
