Rockville Centre voters overwhelmingly approved the school district’s 2019-20 budget during the Tuesday election, with 1,513 votes for it and 552 against.

The $120 million spending plan is 2.63 percent higher than the current year’s plan, and the tax levy, the amount of revenue the district collects through property taxes, increases by 2.65 percent.

Board of Education President John O’Shea, who ran uncontested, was officially re-elected, collecting 1,846 votes. O’Shea, 59, a lifelong village resident, joined the board in 2010, and will begin his fourth three-year term.

The Rockville Centre Public Library’s $3.6 million budget also passed, as 1,678 voters approved of the spending plan, while 379 people opposed it.

Candidates Susanne Morahan and Michael Ludwig, who also ran unopposed, garnered 1,760 and 1,679 votes, respectively, earning three-year terms. Morahan will return to the board after filling the seat vacated by former board member Christine Glass last October. Ludwig will replace Charles Kelleher, who served three terms on the Library Board.
