New York State Police arrested two Rockville Centre employees for selling alcohol to undercover police operatives on July 3 during an operation to curb underage drinking.

Susan C. Arato, of Long Beach, an employee of the Beach House on Park Avenue, and Joseph Woram, of Rockville Centre, who works at 7-Eleven on Merrick Road, were arrested and charged with prohibited sales of an alcoholic beverage.

The two were issued tickets for violation of the State Alcohol and Beverage Control Law and for unlawfully dealing with a child, a misdemeanor. They were scheduled to appear at Nassau County First District Court at a later date.

During what state police labeled the Underage Drinking Initiative, officers checked 10 other restaurants, convenience and grocery stores around the village — including Key Food, King Kullen, TGI Friday’s and two CVS stores — which were all found to be in compliance with the law.
