Ready, aim fire! W.T. Clarke Middle School students took turns trying to hit the target of a dunk tank and unseat their teachers on March 28. The East Meadow school participated in the classic carnival activity as part of the Change 4 Change club’s annual fundraiser, which raises money for local charities. The charities will be determined in the spring during an exclusive Change 4 Change giving ceremony.

Hosted by club advisers Katie Pienkos and Ashley Sanalitro, each grade level gathered in the school cafeteria to raise money by paying a dollar for three throws to try and dunk a teacher. One by one, teachers volunteered to sit in the dunk tank as students tried to make their teachers go down. Students cheered on their peers as the event unfolded and recorded how many dunks occurred. A friendly competition was held between the grades, to see which grade could hit the target the most.

“Our favorite part of this event each year is having the students come together to show their school spirit and give back to local charities,” said Pienkos and Sanalitro agreed.
