Multiple departments respond to Valley Stream house fire

Multiple neighboring departments responded to a Valley Stream house fire at around 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18. There were no reports of injuries, according to first responders on the scene.

The house, located on Alden Avenue near the border of Valley Stream and Elmont was badly damaged in the blaze, which had such an intensity that the home's plastic fencing had melted.

At around 1:45 p.m. volunteers from the Valley Stream, Elmont, Franklin Square and Lawrence-Cedarhurst fire departments had mostly extinguished the fire, with some smoke emitting from the rear of the house.
