Long Island Comedy Festival
Laugh the night away when the Long Island Comedy Festival brings its summer showcase to Rockville Centre. This entertaining evening of standup, hosted by Paul Anthony, features a line-up of creative talent who have performed at the top venues in Manhattan and elsewhere. Scott Schendlinger, Moody McCarthy, Rich Walker, Sherry Davey, and Rob Falcone all contribute their unique comic insights to a memorable evening of comedy. Schendlinger, a 27-year-old Hofstra University grad, entertains audiences with a charismatic and uplifting delivery, offering his a fresh humorous outlook on the world; McCarthy, a regular on the club and TV circuit, is known for his endearing stage presence; Walker, voted “Long Island’s Favorite Comedian” two years in a row, is a familiar face on the local comedy scene; Davey, a one woman tour de force, is acclaimed for her quick wit and many dialects and characters; Falcone, an actor-comedian who is never at loss for words, moves from the club circuit to TV and film roles with ease.

West Side Story
Plaza Theatrical Productions brings the vibrant musical to Bellmore, when the Lynbrook-based theater company transforms its stage into the Manhattan streets of the mid ‘50s. Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” unfolds in this landmark musical that is as dynamic and resonant today as it was when Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim and Arthur Laurents created it in 1957. Maria, portrayed by 20-year-old Emma Harrington, of East Rockaway, who is a junior at the University of Delaware, is joined by 18-year-old David Szavbo as Tony and Lynbrook’s Chris Bilello, who has appeared in numerous Plaza Productions, as Action, along another Plaza regular, Kristine Renegin, as Anita.
