Commuter parking permits on sale

Posted

Commuter parking permits are required for the Wantagh and Seaford parking district, which includes Town of Hempstead-maintained lots surrounding the two Long Island Rail Road stations.

These permits were created in order to prevent non-residents from parking in the commuter lots. The fee is $3 for a one-year sticker, and the license period is April 1 to March 31. Drivers will be required to provide a copy of their vehicle registration, and proof of residency.

Permit applications are available at the Town Clerk’s Office at Hempstead Town Hall, or by calling (516) 489-5000, ext. 3513. Permits will also be sold at the Seaford train station on March 12, and at the Wantagh train station on March 24.
