Seaford Boy Scout Cory Levy’s Eagle Scout project will pay tribute to former ATF Agent John Capano, who was killed in the line of duty in 2011.

Levy lives across the street from Rep. Peter King, who suggested that Levy purchase and install a large gazebo to be dedicated in Capano’s honor. The dedication will take place at Washington Avenue Park on April 26 at 11 a.m.

King is expected to attend, along with Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano and officials from the Town of Hempstead. ATF Chaplain Father Joseph D’Angelo will provide a blessing and prayer along with Nassau County Police bag pipers. The entire Capano family will be present.

“It’s amazing that someone that didn’t even know him is doing this,” Capano’s sister Maryellen Guerrero said. “My family is truly honored.”
