Kidville set for summer Wantagh debut

Kidville, a children’s play land that also lends itself to learning, is coming to Wantagh this August.

Oceanside entrepreneur and mom Alexis Fritz and her husband Tom are bringing Kidville to the Willow Wood Shopping Center at 1183 Wantagh Ave. Fritz fell in love with Kidville when she first found out about it a year ago, she said.

“When I learned about the imaginative and innovative programs, I quickly decided I want my community to benefit from what Kidville has to offer,” Fritz said.

Kidville offers classes, parties, amenities and events for families and children until age six, with parties offered through age eight. Programs consist of gym, music, art, dance, and Kidville’s own preschool alternative—Kidville University.

“Knowing that early childhood development specialists were involved in the creation of these programs gave me even greater confidence that this franchise was for me,” said Fritz.

Fritz choose Wantagh after she found herself in the same situation as the founder of Kidville, Shari Misher Stenzler, who got the idea while carrying her baby in a stroller down a flight of stairs for a music class. Stenzler thought there must be a better way to help her child learn and grow, and Fritz used that mentality to bring Kidville to the south shore.

Kidville is also located in Roslyn and will open soon in Garden City, Commack and Syosset.

The Wantagh location is built in a 4,000-square-foot facility. It will contain three classrooms, studio, gym, theatre, indoor play space and a retail boutique. Kidville will be open on weekdays from 9:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and classes and parties will be scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays.

“As a Long Island mother, I always want what is best for my child,” Fritz said. “Kidville’s unique approach to childhood development and engagement attracted me to the franchise.”
