Santa pays visit to St. William School

Santa will be visiting homes all across the world this week, but before he made his big annual journey, he stopped by Seaford to take some requests.

St. William the Abbot School hosted its annual Breakfast with Santa party for nursery, pre-K, kindergarten and first-grade students on Dec. 12. Every child was able to sit on Santa’s lap, make a nativity craft and enjoy some pancakes.

Parent Nicole Coyle, of Seaford, organized the event with her “elves,” Emily Ambizas and Linda Montalbano. Coyle said it is an annual event at the school and has been a long-standing tradition which the children look forward to.

“It’s just a fun day with Santa,” she said, adding that all children received a candy cane and a goody bag with some toys and treats. “They’ll go home happy and full.”

Coyle, who has a son in nursery school, said it was his first time taking part in the program and was excited to attend after hearing about it from his two older sisters. She said that for many students, Santa’s visit at St. William was their chance to meet him this year and tell him if they’ve been good or bad.

Santa, during a break between groups, said the popular requests this year were Minecraft toys and Legos for boys, and Paw Patrol, Bratz and “Frozen” toys for girls.
