The Seaford Chamber of Commerce and locally elected leaders welcomed two new businesses to the community — What a Girl Wants, a women’s clothing and accessory boutique, and the Selvin Law Firm — last week.

State Sen. Michael Venditto, Nassau County Legislators Steven Rhoads and Rose Walker and Hempstead Town Clerk Nasrin Ahmad attended the ribbon-cutting ceremonies for both Merrick Road merchants on July 14, presenting the owners with citations. Chamber members were also in attendance to congratulate the entrepreneurs and welcome them to Seaford.

“They both offer a lot and have a good niche,” Chamber Secretary Karen Cass said. “I think they will both be very successful and will keep growing.”

The Selvin Law Firm, which has been in business for more than 10 years in offices in Garden City and the five boroughs, mainly focuses on medical malpractice and personal injury. Owner Jared Selvin said he is happy about how the chamber put the event together and looks forward to becoming an active member in the Seaford community.

Although What a Girl Wants has been in the community for more than a year,  the business was resold to Seaford residents Christine and Teddy Cillis. In addition to taking the shop over, the pair will also help with chamber growth.
