Police: Baldwin woman made up 'Trump' incident

A Baldwin woman earlier this month claimed four teenagers left a note stating “Go Home” on her car after yelling “Trump 2016” at her. Now, Nassau police say she made that up.

Adwoa Lewis, 19, was arrested Sept. 14 and charged with Making a False Punishable Written Statement. She’s due back in First District Court on Sept. 24.

According to a Nassau County Police Department statement, Lewis claimed that on Sept. 2 she was confronted by four teenagers who yelled “Trump 2016” and that she didn’t belong here. She also told cops her car’s tire was slashed and a note stating “Go Home” was left behind.

The NCPD said an “extensive investigation” determined the story had been made up by Lewis, who allegedly admitted that she fabricated the incident and that she wrote the note and placed it on her car. Lewis was then taken into custody without incident.
