Three nabbed for allegedly breaking into three pharmacies

N. Merrick among pharmacies hit; police say opioids stolen

Three people were arrested on Tuesday in connection with a string of pharmacy burglaries, including one in North Merrick.

According to Nassau County police, Anthony Cataldo, 50, of Holbrook, Bill Ford, 48, of Lynn, Masachusetts, and Nicole Maupin, 29, of Bayshore, were arrested after an investigation by the Burglary Pattern Team and Asset Forfeiture Intelligence Unit.

Police said that the three burglarized Farmingdale and Masspequa pharmacies, as well as the Duane Reade on Merrick Avenue in North Merrick, on Aug. 21.

According to police, the suspects stole large quantities of fentantyl, oxycontin and oxycodone from the pharmacies, some of which was recovered. Police also found burglary tools and communication devices in the suspects' homes.

Cataldo faces four counts of third-degree burglary, Ford two counts of third-degree burglary and Maupin three counts of third-degree burglary. They were scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday at Hempstead First District Court.
