Paying it forward with acts of kindness
In 1996, when Jennifer Lentini was only 13, she was suffering from a heart muscle disease and in desperate need of a transplant. For months,she waited for one in a hospital, as her heart got progressively worse. “The doctors told my parents to say goodbye to me on July Fourth,” Lentini recalled. “Then on July 5, the organ came in.” more

Logan Daley, a fourth-grader at St. Thomas the Apostle in West Hempstead, has been running for just four years, but on March 13 she broke the national indoor record in the 55-meter dash for girls ages 9 and 10 at the Hershey National Youth Indoor Championships at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island. more
