In Concert

Jeffrey Biegel
Virtuoso pianist Jeffrey Biegel gives a dynamic performance of Claude Bolling’s Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano, presented by the Freeport Community Concert Association. The Lynbrook-based pianist shares the stage with flute-player Rosalie Morrow, Michael Molloy on bass and drummer Evan Biegel. Bolling created a furor with his seven-part musical suite in the mid ‘70s. Its ingenious fusion of baroque stylings with the jazz idiom was an instant classic and remained in the Billboard Top 40 for 10 years. Biegel gives a dynamic interpretation of this masterful arrangement of Bolling’s acclaimed composition. The lively program also includes selections from Bach, Mozart and Liszt.
Saturday, Dec. 10, 8 p.m. $20. Freeport High School, 50 South Brookside Ave., Freeport. (516) 867-1195 or www.freeportconcertassociation.com.
