On March 25, the St Agnes 7th and 8th grade CYO basketball teams each won the Long Island championships in the CYO “A” division. The 8th grade boys won their second consecutive championship with an impressive victory over Our Lady of Mercy of Hicksville. The 7th grade boys prevailed over St. Mary’s of Manhasset in a hard-fought championship game.

On March 31, the St. Agnes boys took on the Brooklyn/Queens CYO diocesan champions at St. Francis Prep High School in Queens in the first ever CYO Classic, pitting the Long Island champs against the Brooklyn/Queens champs.

The 8th grade team from St. Agnes defeated St. Mary Madelene of Springfield Gardens, leading from start to finish to cap off a perfect 16-0 season. The 7th grade boys built a substantial early lead over St. Anastasia of Douglaston and held on to win the CYO Classic title.
