A male suspect threatened to use a gun when he demanded money from a teller at the Capital One Bank on N. Central Ave. in Valley Stream on Feb. 14, according to Nassau County Police.

The suspect entered the branch at 356 N. Central Ave. at 12:40 p.m. and demanded the money but never displayed a firearm, police said. The teller complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect fled on foot westbound on Clarewndon Dr.

Five employees and one customer were in the bank during the robbery. No injuries were reported.

The suspect was described as white or Hispanic, 5-foot-6 or 5-foot-7 with a light complexion, thin build, wearing dark sunglasses, an oatmeal-colored hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans, light brown boots and a scarf across his face.

A male suspect robbed the same location on Feb. 9. That person also obscured their face with a scarf and fled in the same direction on Clarendon Dr.

The Major Case Bureau is investigating the Feb. 14 robbery. Detectives ask anyone with information regarding either crime to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
