Bellmore rolls out the red carpet for LIIFE

Sean Young, who is best known for her roles in “Blade Runner” and “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective,” accepted the Creative Achievement Award. She also starred in “Charlie Mantle,” which was shown at the festival this year.

Before receiving his award, Davi –– who appeared in “The Goonies,” “Die Hard,” “Showgirls” and “License to Kill” –– was introduced by friend and former NFL player, Rich Salgado. Other celebrity presenters included Brian O’Halloran of “Clerks” and John Nolan, guitarist and vocalist in the Long Island–based band, Taking Back Sunday. Nolan, a Rockville Centre native, also received the Best Original Song award for “Here Comes the Wolf,” which he wrote for the film “Bridge and Tunnel.” 

Local legislators said they attended the ceremony to show support for Long Island’s film industry. Diane Yatauro, the Nassau County Legislature’s former presiding officer, said she was proud that her daughter, Noelle, performed at the closing ceremony and was pursuing a career in the arts. Legislator Dave Denenberg and County Executive Ed Mangano were also on hand.
